Kanye West wants to stop classism with his housing community in Calabasas.
The rapper’s latest futuristic venture is actually super cool. He’s building an inspired by Luke Skywalker’s childhood home on Tatooine from the classic Star Wars universe. Dimensions for the homes are measured out at 50 feet tall and sit on an estimated 300-acre land plot. Kanye assigns his team to research the history of housing to make sure this project is as revolutionary as it looks.
The project is meant to break the barriers that separate classes "the rich, the middle class, and the poor."
Forbes writer Zack O'Malley Greenburg was given a tour of the compound and said the artist has a clear vision of the development.
It started last April in an interview with Charlemagne tha God, when Kanye revealed his purchase of the property, on which he hoped to build his "first community" made up of five units. "I’m going to be one of the biggest real-estate developers of all time, what Howard Hughes was to aircrafts and what Henry Ford was to cars, just the relationships I have with architects, my understanding of space and sacred proportions, just this new vibe, this new energy," Kanye said. "We gonna develop cities."
