And the first black woman in the chart's 61-year history to reach the milestone.
Rihanna has made Billboard history once again. Chart Data reports her 2016 album ANTI has been on the Billboard 200 Chart for 200 straight weeks! The album, which included the popular singles “Work,” “Love on the Brain,” and “Needed Me", will mark its fourth year anniversary on January 2020.
This isn’t the first time ANTI has broken records. A month after the album was released, it was certified platinum and helped Rihanna become the first artist in history to have 100 million song certifications from the RIAA. A year later, ANTI allowed Rihanna to snag Michael Jackson’s spot for most Top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
ANTI initially debuted at No. 27. It topped the chart in its second week, and as a result represented the biggest jump on the chart in eight years at the time. Additionally, she was ranked the seventh most-streamed female artist on Spotify for the month of November even though she hasn't dropped an album in almost four years!
Rihanna has been teasing a new album for quite some time, but she hasn't confirmed anything just yet. She has referred to the project as R9, and in a recent interview with Vogue she indicated that she's already working on her "10th album."
