Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion started writing her own rhymes by the age of 16, but didn't make serious moves until she posted a series of video clips on social media a few years later. She gained attention in 2016, first with a standout verse on various-artists rap showcases and when videos of her freestyling became popular online. Her first official single was 2016's "Like a Stallion," and her presence in the Houston rap circuit was solidified by decimating all opponents in local freestyle competitions.Megan's first studio album, Fever, arrived on May 2019, complete with features from Juicy J and DaBaby. The album hit number ten on the Billboard 200, further cementing Megan's rise. She landed a pair of hits with the attitude-driven "B.I.T.C.H." and "Savage," both of which appeared on the EP Suga. Throughout her career, Megan Thee Stallion has received several accolades, including two BET Awards, five BET Hip Hop Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, a Billboard Women in Music Award, and four nominations at the Grammys. With her smash hit “Savage,” taking off initially on TikTok before going global with a remix featuring Beyoncé and “WAP,” her chart-topping raunch-a-thon duet with Cardi B, Megan created a smart, rowdy forum for complex ideas about gender, race and sexuality. In November 2020, Megan Thee Stallion released her debut studio album Good News. The release of the album also coincided with its fourth single "Body" as well as its music video.Stream Megan Thee Stallion's GOOD NEWS here.

PlayStation recently signed a creative partnership deal with Travis Scott. Earlier this year, Travis sent waves throughout the gaming industry with his virtual concert in Fortnite. That digital event broke Fortnite records, with over 12.3 million concurrent players tuning into the online event. During the virtual concert, Scott also debuted a new song, 'The Scotts' featuring Kid Cudi. This, consequently, attracted lucrative deals from many top brands, including PlayStation.A recent Forbes profile of Scott claims that a co-branded PS5 system between the rapper and Sony might be in the works, as part of his recent "strategic creative partnership" with the gaming company. However, Scott has remained tight-lipped about the potential releases, telling Forbes that “it’s all going to roll out in the next couple of weeks”.Recently, PlayStation posted a blog regarding its creative partnership with the artist and hinted at what fans can expect.“Travis is an artist who is incredibly innovative, constantly surprising, and continues to push boundaries, very much like the PlayStation brand – so we think this is a perfect fit. When we embarked on this collaboration, the most important thing was to keep it as open as possible, to allow space to explore interesting, creative ideas.”There might be an underlying hint in Travis’ response to this.“I’m really looking forward to being able to showcase everything that Cactus Jack has worked on with Sony and the PlayStation team. Most importantly, I’m excited to see how the PlayStation fans and family respond, and I look forward to running some games with everybody very soon!”Last month, the rapper dropped a pair of Playstation-branded shoes with Nike, which he also has a partnership with. The shoes were the first launch after he was announced as a Strategic Creative Partner for Sony. Earlier this year, Scott also launched his own McDonald’s meal. The Cactus Jack meal, named after the his record label, was available until October 4 and included a Quarter Pounder with cheese, bacon and lettuce, fries with BBQ sauce and a Sprite.

Some artists choose to slow down and take this time to recharge, but others like Nobrvnd, choose to hustle. Formerly known as the vocalist of indie pop band Caffeine and Taurine, 24-year-old artist/producer Brandon Garcia a.k.a. Nobrvnd (no-br?hnd) continues to create heat for the airwaves with his latest single "Sinayang". NoBrvnd contacted CHELLY if he wanted to do a collab, sent him a demo of the track and got his recorded vocals the day after. The song was finished last December 2019 and was set to release last February but it got delayed because of the pandemic."I usually write about past life events and add in some of my imaginations to make things exciting. But in this case, we thought about this song as a sequel from one of my singles called “Bakit," on how NoBrvnd went about writing the song.According also to him, "Sinayang is an upbeat hip hop track combined with exciting and arpeggiating sounds. The track talks about waking up with no worries as you moved on from your relationship as they wasted their chances on you." Up-and-coming singer-songwriter Dionela teams up with rappers Flict-G and Dello on the remix of his smash hit, “Agaw.”The original version, which has racked up more than a million streams on Spotify, recounts the soulful pop persona’s devastating experience of being left behind in a breakup. The song has built a reputation for its wounded sentimentality and heartfelt chorus, and easily stands out among the pack—thanks to  Dionela’s expressive R&B vocals. With Flict-G and Dello hopping on the remix, “Agaw” delivers the punch with a more in-your-face approach. Both hip-hop acts aid in dropping verses that swing between despair and helplessness, complementing the track’s skittering, atmospheric beats and cinematic production.According to Dionela, “Agaw” remix is far more emotionally tugging than its previous iteration, and owes its magic to the impressive contributions of his collaborators. “I’ve been a fan of Flict-G and Dello even before I started making music,” the budding star said. “It’s an honor to work with artists whose creativity inspires me to be better. Their infectious and razor-sharp lyricism not only adds depth to the song’s overall appeal, but also takes everything up a notch in all artistic and emotional fronts.”Both Flict-G and Dello express excitement in working with the young singer-songwriter, with the latter feeling motivated in putting a different flavor to the track. Dello adds, “It still has the same feels, but rap listeners would find comfort in this particular bop because our verses slap. It has crossed genres and explored a different vibe.”Flict-G on the hand, reveals that working remotely on the project during the pandemic proved to be challenging to all parties, but somehow managed to bring out the best in them. “The remix is labor of passion and love. We’ve all worked hard to finish this collaboration despite the limitations and circumstances.”“Agaw” remix is now available on all digital platforms worldwide via Sony Music Philippines.
